A hands-on look at the jet black Apple Airpods by ColorWare

Apple’s AirPods come in just one color, but it was only a matter of time before ColorWare provided a colorful alternative to the all white earbuds. As we noted earlier this week, ColorWare is now accepting orders for Apple Airpods in a variety of solid or metallic colors in a matte or glossy finish.

Jonathan Morrison of TLD already got his mitts on ColorWare’s handy work, and he went for one of the most logical choices — a glossy black finish that closely resembles the Jet Black iPhone 7. more…

Watch this 3D X-ray of the AirPods composited from 900 different images

The folks over at iFixit have once again teamed up with Creative Electron’s Bill Cardoso to bring us X-ray images of the latest hot Apple tech. This time around the subject of the X-ray images is Apple’s hard-to-get AirPods. But unlike previous images of the iPhone 7 Taptic Engine and Apple Watch S1 chip, Creative Electron has served up a unique 3D image that provides us with a remarkably-detailed look inside the shell of the AirPods. more…

Linea sketching app for iPad updated with new Apple Pencil features, Presentation Mode, more

Last month The Iconfactory released Linea for iPad which is a really well crafted sketching app designed with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil in mind. The app made our weekly Friday 5 app pick video following its launch.

Now Linea is back with a new app update that includes further Apple Pencil support and optimization plus a few new features. Version 1.0.2 of Linea for iPad brings tilt support for every drawing tool included so you can take advantage of the Apple Pencil’s intelligent drawing features.

Apple extending coverage of Retina MacBook displays with ‘Staingate’ issue

In 2015 we reported on an issue with MacBook Retina displays that were seeing problems with the anti-reflective coating wearing off, which came to be known as ‘Staingate.’ Although some customers experienced the issue as early as 2012, Apple started covering the repair free of charge in 2015. Review: Mophie Juice Pack Air battery case for iPhone 7 w/ Qi wireless charging base
