Apple has just scored another major exclusive for its music streaming service. According to The New York Times, the long-awaited new album from Frank Ocean will premier exclusively on Apple Music this Friday, August 5th. Additionally, the release will also include a “major video,” as well as a printed publication that will be available in Apple retail locations.

macOS 10.12 Sierra beta 4 hits the Mac App Store for developers

Apple today released the fourth developer preview of macOS Sierra since showing off the software update for the Mac at WWDC 2016. The latest release is available now through the Mac App Store. macOS Sierra’s headlining feature is Siri on the Mac with other features like Auto-Unlock which lets Apple Watch users skip the password login screen. Apple Pay is also coming to Safari with macOS Sierra, although we haven’t seen the feature live on the web yet.

Apple releases watchOS 3 beta 4 for Apple Watch to developers

Apple has just begun rolling out watchOS 3 beta 4 to developers today. Those looking to grab the new release can head over to the Watch app on their iPhones, select General and then Software Update. watchOS 3 beta 4 is available to download as a Configuration Profile from the Apple developer center for newer users looking to test out the upcoming system. Apple has released iOS 10 beta 4 for developers to test on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. iOS 10 brings a refreshed look to Apple Music and News plus loads of new features to the platform. iBooks launches official Instagram account, new Harry Potter ‘book’ now available in iBookstore

Apple continues to experiment in the social media space to promote its businesses and products. In this vein, iBooks has launched its own official Instagram account this weekend. Apple is using the photo-centric social network to share book artwork, quotes, min-reviews and more. Interestingly, none of the posts so far feature call-to-action links where users can directly purchase the promoted novels from iBooks itself.

It appears to be using a more subtle marketing approach, raising awareness of books which users can then lookup and buy from the iBookstore if they choose.
